I Hope Your Day is Delightful” — A Silly Old Bear Tea Party Card

I have been having so much fun with the Silly Old Bear Designer Series Paper lately, and today’s card might be my favorite one yet. There is just something about this sweet Hundred Acre Wood tea party scene that makes me smile every time I look at it — Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Piglet, and all the little woodland creatures gathered together under the big oak tree, plates ready and cups poured.
I started by cutting out this panel from the Silly Old Bear DSP to 5 1/8″ x 3 1/8″. The sentiment, “I hope your day is delightful,” felt like the perfect fit for a scene this charming, so I stamped it with Early Espresso Ink right into the sky above the branches.
For the card base, I framed the image in a Early Espresso Cardstock (5 1/4″ x 3 1/4″) mat before layering it onto a background of Very Vanilla Cardstock embossed with the Hundred Acres Woods 3D Embossing Folder — the dimension really makes the scene pop once everything is put together. A trio of green rhinestones, from the Sparkle Dot Essentials, tucked into the corner adds just a touch of sparkle without competing with all that detail in the image.
I stamped a sentiment on the inside of the cardstock with Early Espresso Ink. I also fussy cut Eeyore and added him to the lower right side of the card.
And because I can never resist finishing a project all the way through, I decorated the envelope flap to match, using a coordinating dotted star pattern paper from the same DSP. I know decorating the inside of the envelope is not something everyone thinks to do, but it is one of my favorite little touches — it means the delight does not stop once the card is opened!
This one would be perfect for a birthday, a thinking-of-you card, or really just because. Sometimes the best cards are not about a big occasion at all — they are just a way of saying someone crossed your mind today.
