Beach Chair, Paddle, and a Little Wishful Thinking 🌊

Hi Crafty Friends

This fun fold card is such a sweet coastal scene! 🌊 The Adirondack chair and paddle make a relaxing focal point, surrounded by sandy shoreline, sea grass, and gliding gulls for that perfect “wish you were here” feel. Tucking the “Today Is Your Day” banner into the corner lets the scene shine while the greeting still pops.

With this heat, I wished I was at the beach or even a lake – anything to cool off! 🏖️ This card was basically my way of daydreaming my way into a cooler spot, even if just for a few minutes at my craft table.

Relaxing Waterside

Card Measurements:

  • Base card: Basic White Thick Cardstock (11″ x 4 1/4″)
  • Layer #1: Misty Moonlight Cardstock (4 1/8″ x 3 7/8″)
  • Layer #1: Side Panel, Misty Moonlight Cardstock (4 1/8″ x 1 3/8″)
  • Layer #2: Waterside Retreat Designer Series Paper (4″ x 3 3/4″)
  • Layer #2: Side Panel Waterside Retreat Designer Series Paper (4″ x 1 1/4″)
  • Banner: Misty Moonlight Cardstock (3″ x 1/4″)
  • Banner: Waterside Retreat DSP (2 1/2″ x 1/4″)
  • Inside: Basic White Cardstock (5 1/4″ x 4″)
  • Strip: Waterside Retreat DSP (3/8″ x 5 1/4″)
  • Envelope Flap: Waterside Retreat (6″ x 2 1/4″)

Now comes the fun part!

I scored the base card at 1 1/2″ and 7″, then folded along those lines with a Bone Folder for a nice, sharp crease. Layer #1 and the side panel went onto the front along with the two pieces of Waterside Retreat DSP, and from there I cut the chair using the coordinating die from the Relaxing Waterside Dies and attached it to the front. The oar was fussy cut with Paper Snips and glued into place (check the photos for exact placement), and I stamped the seagulls with Gray Granite Ink, again referring to the photos for positioning. A few dots of Moody Palette Glossy Dots finished off the front nicely.

Inside, I added a layer of Basic White Cardstock, attached a strip of Waterside Retreat DSP to the left side, and fussy cut a little life jacket from the Waterside Retreat DSP to adhere on the lower right. For the envelope, I carried the Waterside Retreat DSP through as well, tying everything together for a cohesive, polished finish.
