A Waterside Retreat Father’s Day Card

Hello Crafty Friends

I just love the Waterside Retreat 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper! The soft, painterly images and sun-faded hues take me straight to a lazy lakeside getaway every time I reach for it. From life vests and oars to buoys and bicycles, each sheet captures such a beloved element of lake life — it really is the prettiest collection! The two cut-apart sheets are perfect for adding those beautiful scenic touches to my handmade cards, scrapbook pages, and so much more! 🚣‍♀️

Waterside Retreat DSP

Here’s how I made this Relaxing Waterside Father’s Day card! 🎣

Card Base & Layers: I started by cutting a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock to 8-1/2″ x 4-1/4″, then scored and folded it at 5 1/2″ to create my card base. Next, I cut the front panel of Misty Moonlight cardstock to 5″ x 4″ and die cut it using the Deckled Rectangle Dies.

Designer Series Paper Collage: Here’s where the fun begins! I used a cut-apart sheet from the Waterside Retreat DSP — the scene with boats on the lake — for the front panel. I cut the DSP piece to 4-1/8″ x 2-5/8″ to fit the side flap. (Any design from the DSP will work beautifully here!). For the flap that holds the front panel, I cut a pattern of Oars & fishing jackets to 4 1/8″ x 2 5/8″ and adhered it to the flap.

Sentiment Banner: I stamped the “Happy Father’s Day” sentiment in Old Olive ink on a Basic White cardstock strip, then trimmed it using the Three Banner Punch. I popped the banner up on Stampin’ Dimensionals right across the front of the scenic panel for that perfect finishing touch!

Inside of Card: I cut the striped pattern from the DSP for the inside of the card. I also cut a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock to 5″ x 4″ and die cut it using the Deckled Rectangle Dies, then cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4-1/8″ x 2-5/8″ to fit inside. Before attaching, I stamped the Wild Wheat image in the lower left corner using Old Olive ink.

Envelope Flap: I added the same striped pattern to the envelope flap for a cohesive, polished look.

That’s it — a gorgeous masculine card that practically makes you want to grab a fishing pole! 🛶
