Velvet Meadows Celebration Card DIY

Hi Crafty Friends!
Ever hit a creative slump and just lose your mojo? That’s exactly what happened to me, so I hopped on Pinterest to find some inspiration. I spotted a design I loved, then put my own spin on it to make it truly mine!
This pretty card puts the Velvet Meadows Designer Series Paper (DSP) front and center, with those soft pink and yellow blooms spilling across the bottom just begging to be admired. A cluster of die-cut leaves and flowers in coordinating shades adds sweet dimension up top, framing the “So Many Reasons to Celebrate” sentiment banner perfectly. It’s a fresh, floral way to celebrate any occasion!

Here’s how I put this card together: Cloud Cover Cardstock became the base, cut to 11″ x 4 1/4″ with the Paper Trimmer, then scored at the 5 1/2″ mark and folded using a Bone Folder for a crisp crease. Berry Burst Cardstock, cut to 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, formed Layer #1 and was attached right to the base card, followed by a piece of Velvet Meadows Designer Series Paper cut to 5 1/4″ x 4 4/8″ for the front.

The sentiment was stamped in Berry Burst Ink and die cut using the coordinating die from Stylish Shapes Dies, then mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals (check the picture for exact placement). Bubble Bath Cardstock was die cut into two flowers, with centers cut from Daffodil Delight Cardstock using the coordinating die. Three leaves and stems came next, die cut from Cloud Cover using the Flowering Meadows Dies, plus two more cut from Vellum Cardstock for a little extra texture.

Once the flower centers were attached, everything got adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals – the leaves too, while the Vellum leaves were added with Multipurpose Liquid Glue for a softer finish.

Inside, a layer of Basic Beige Cardstock cut to 5 1/4″ x 4″ was glued in with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. And for the finishing touch, a strip of matching DSP cut to 6″ x 2 1/4″ was attached to the envelope flap
