Bloomin’ Beautiful

Gretchen Barron has started featuring a card sketch on her blog every Thursday.  I decided to participate in her first challenge.  Here's the sketch Here's my card I used Perfect Plum Patterns Designer Series Paper; the color theme was Perfect Plum and Whisper White – not quite monochromatic.  The main image was stamped in Black Stazon, colored with a blender pen and Perfect Plum Classic Ink (for the lighter shade)… Read More »

4 generations of Rachels

I have been wanting to scrapbook this picture since I went to California in 2007.  There are 4 generations of Rachels in my immediate family.  There's my Aunt (Rachel Almaguer), my Niece (Rachel Lopez), my Granddaughter (Rachel Bradford) and me (Rachel Brumley).  My Aunt and niece live in California.  My granddaughter and I live in Northwest Arkansas and this was first opportunity I had to take a picture of all… Read More »

Grandparents Day, 13 September 2009

For all grandparents – thought you might enjoy this.   1.    She was in the bathroom, putting on her makeup, under the watchful eyes of her young granddaughter, as she'd done many times before. After she applied her lipstick and started to leave, the little one said, "But Gramma, you forgot to kiss the toilet paper good-bye!" I will probably never put lipstick on again without thinking about kissing… Read More »

Card for Andrew

I'm still playing with my "My Digital Studio".  It is so much fun!  I'll have something for you tomorrow (I hope!). Today's card is for my husband's grandson Andrew.  The background DSP is such an unlikely choice for a teenager but after seeing Sandy MacIvers' card on SCS, I knew that I would use the same thing.  It reminds me of a spot light shinning down on the guitar player. … Read More »

Happy Birthday Rachel

My Digital Studio Here's my first attempt at creating an 8 x 8 scrapbook page.  It's my granddaughter on her birthday at Chuckie Cheese with her Popa (my husband David).    For my 1st attempt, I used a template.  I'm now working on creating backgrounds and such.  It is so much fun!!! This software will be available on 1 October 2009 to customers. Thanks for visiting

I’m playing!

Sorry folks but I don't have a card for you today.  My Digital Studio Software came in today and I'm playing with it.  I'll try and have something from the MDS tomorrow (let's see how fast I learn how to use this new toy). This software will be available to you on 1 October 2009.

Flower Fancy

For those of you that missed me yesterday – I'm back!.  I didn't have an internet connection for a couple of days and could not post on this blog.  I can't believe how much I depend on my computer and the internet but it's fixed now so I'm happy. I decided to use the Flower Fancy Stamp Set for today's card.  I wanted something bright and cheery and used Melon… Read More »

House of Haunts

I was waiting for my Cast a Spell Designer Series Paper to come in before I used this stamp set.  But then I remembered I had some retired DSP (don't know when it retired or what it was called) and decided to use the old DSP. The main image was inked up in Basic Black and stamped on Whisper White card stock.  The sentiment was also stamped using Basic Black and punched… Read More »

Shabby Chic

I'm really happy with the way this card came out.  I tried using the Medallion background stamp before and I wasn't too happy with the results.  Then one of my readers (Thanks Jeanealogist!) recommended I emboss it.  I tried it and I like.   Tell me what you think of my card.   Layer 1:  Base Card (Naturals Ivory) Cut to 5 1/2 x 11.  Scored and folded in half… Read More »
