Lovely as a Tree

Today's card is one the ladies will be making on Friday at the New Techniques Class.  Even if this technique has been around for a while, I have never attempted to make one.  The technique is called Sponge Clouds and it's from Splitcoast Stampers.  It the same as masking – I made the clouds stencils using post-it notes.  I wasn't too happy with this card turned out- sky too light.  But, I'll have a better example in the next couple of days using the same technique just a little heavier on the sponging.

 
I decided to use the Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set.  I love the solitary pine tree.  Did you know that there are about 115 species of pine trees?  In North America, they range from Canada south to  Nicaragua  The highest diversity  occurs in Mexico and California.  I'm from California and I've always associated the Eucalyptus tree with that state – I loved the smell of Eucalyptus.  Okay so much for the Dendrology lesson (LOL).
