Halloween Brooch

Hi Stampers

I made this brooch last week to wear it during my October classes.   I wished I had found a smaller spider because this one seems to overwhelm the brooch.  I used the Flowers Folds Bigz XL Die for the brooch.  Shelly first wore one at one of the regionals about six months agoYou can use this die to create multilayered, multicolor flowers, perfect for using as accents on scrapbook pages, cards and gift boxes and bags.  These flowers look beautiful as single flowers or layered.

I used Halloween fabric from one of the craft stores with orange and black netting in between the petals.  Last time I made one of the brooches, I used the hot glue gun to put the flower together.  I kept burning my fingers while I was trying to attached the petals so this time I used the "good old" thread and needle.  It's not as heavy nor as bulky as with the glue gun so I like it much better.

This is the back of the brooch.  I attached the circle using black thread and since I'm not a sewer, I don't know what the stitch is called.

Maybe I'll wear it at the "Make Cards for the Troops" event on Saturday.  Don't forget – if you live in the Bella Vista, AR area and want to help out, we will be at the Village Insurance Community room from 10 am to 2 pm.

There's still time to enter my contest for a $25.00 gift certificate.  All the details are here.

Thanks for stopping by today
