Elegant Simplicity: Framed Violets on Rustic Check
Hi Crafty Friends!
Meet the Framed Violets Bundle — one of my new favorite for instantly card-worthy flowers. The stamps give me a hand-drawn frame, coordinating blooms, and soft textured accents, while the dies bring a matching frame and sprigs that layer together beautifully. Whether I’m going for a focal point or a little extra detail, this bundle makes it easy to create cards that feel polished and personal.
This card is one of my favorites to come out of the Framed Violets Bundle, and I love how much texture and contrast I packed into such a simple design. I started with a crisp Basic White Cardstock base and ran it through the New Rustic Check 3D Embossing Folder, which gives the background that subtle basketweave texture without competing with the focal image. Layering it over black cardstock adds just enough definition to frame the whole card and ground the design.
For the violets themselves, I stamped and colored them with my Daffodil Delight and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends, keeping the palette soft and natural so the blooms feel true to life. I love how those two colors work together here — the warm yellow petals really pop against the green foliage, especially framed inside that soft stitched oval from the coordinating dies. It’s a simple color story, but it lets the detail in the stamping do all the talking.
To finish it off, I added a few dots from the Neutral Matte Dots for a bit of understated texture, then tied on a loose, playful bow with Black Baker’s Twine that trails down over the bottom of the card. That twine is honestly one of my favorite details — it adds movement and a handmade touch that keeps the whole design from feeling too tidy or stiff. It’s proof that even a mostly monochrome card can feel warm and full of personality when you let a few natural details shine.
For the inside, I kept things simple but coordinated — a Layer #1 Basic White Cardstock panel stamped with the same flower image in Tuxedo Black ink, then colored again with Daffodil Delight and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends so the inside echoes the front perfectly. I also ran the envelope flap through that same New Rustic Check 3D Embossing Folder, which ties the whole set together and gives it that polished, thought-out-to-the-last-detail feel I love sending out.
