Autumn Opulence: Falling for These Layered Leaves

Hi Crafty Friends!

There’s something about a good embossing folder that just makes my heart happy, and this one might be my new favorite for fall! I started with a soft, richly textured background, then added three dimensional die-cut leaves “hanging” from little tabs across the top — one in a gorgeous Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze, and Very Vanilla patterned paper from the Opulence Autumn Designer Series Paper. A simple sentiment banner tucked right into the middle says it all: Happy Thanksgiving. Add a few sparkly enamel dots for good measure, and you’ve got a card that feels cozy, elegant, and totally give-worthy this season.

Card Measurents:

Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock
- Base card: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
Very Vanilla Cardstock
- Front panel: 5 1/4″ x 4″
- Interior: 5 1/4′ X 4″
Autumn Opulence DSP:
- Layer #1 (front of Card): 5 3/8″ X 4 1/8″
- Leaves: 3 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ in different patterns (Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze & Very Vanilla)
- Strip for Interior: 4″ x 5/8″
- Envelope Flap: 6″ x 2 1/4″

How I made this Card:

To begin, I folded the base card in half with a Bone Folder for a nice, sharp crease. Next, I attached the DSP to the base card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. For the front panel, I embossed it with the Stone & Vine 3D Embossing Folder, then glued it in place.

From there, I took my 3 pieces of DSP, added Adhesive Sheets to the back of each one, and used the large die from the Elegant Leaves Dies to cut 3 leaves in 3 different patterns. Those got attached to the front of the card (see the photo for placement). The sentiment was computer generated and cut using the coordinating die from the Textured Notes Dies.

To finish things off, I scattered a few dots from the Cajun Craze & Gold Dots across the front for a little bling.

For the interior, I added Very Vanilla Cardstock and attached a strip of DSP along the left side. I also adhered that same DSP to the envelope flap, which ties everything together for a cohesive, polished look.
