Adorable Owls

One of my presents to my granddaughter, Felicia, was a Red Hot Chili Peppers T-shirt. It finally got here and I thought I would make her a cute card to include in her package. Since she is 20 years old and that band was popular in the 1980’s, I don’t under the attraction but she loves them and has attended some of their concerts.

The base card is Basic White Thick Cardstock. The front panel is Basic White Cardstock embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. Before embossing I added a strip of County Floral Lane Designer Series Paper.

The owl was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink and colored in with the Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends Combo. I used Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends for the feet and beak and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends for the eyes. The ribbon on the owl’s head is actually a bow tie from another of the images in the same stamp set.

Inside of the card. It was a piece of left over strip from the front of the card. The small hearts are from the Country Bouquet Stamp Set.

I used the same DSP for the flap of the envelope. I’ve decorated the envelopes for my cards so long now that I feel like it’s naked with embellishing it!

Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit. If you enjoyed my project for today, please be sure to visit my Card Gallery for lots of ideas and inspiration. Have a great day!
