The Old and the New…..

Good Morning Stampers!

Burrrrrrr… It's cold today – high of 22 degrees!  I guess it's not as cold as up north, but I am not used to this!  I'm originally from sunny Southern California and it's time like this that I miss that climate!

 Today's card is a vintage type card.  I used the frame from the Charming Stamp Set that's on page 32 of the Holiday Mini.  It's also the free stamp set of the month.  A beautiful set that gets overlooked because it's with the Simply Adorned Charms.  In fact, the images in the Charming stamp set are ideally sized to make elegant jewelry.  So if you would like a chance to win this set, just place an on-line order with me – no minimum required (see details…)

The Designer Series Paper is called Au Chocolat (retired).  The lacy looking strip if vanilla card stock was first punched with the Eyelet Border Punch, folded every 1/2"and the sponged with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink to give it that vintage look.   I then straighted it out and then adhered it to the chocolate chip card stock.  I got the idea from Kimberly Van Diepen from Stamping by the Sea Blog.  But she left hers in folds whereas I straighted out the strip of vanilla card stock before adhering it to the chocolate chip card stock.

The Ribbon is  Satin Chocolate Chip but I can't remember when it retired!  The Sentiment is from the Fresh Cuts Stamp Set and the frame is from the Charming Stamp Set.  I cut it out using the Paper Snips and then adhered it to chocolate chip card stock punched out using the Wide Oval Punch.  It was then mounted on the DSP using Stampin' Dimensionals.

My shipment of new items came in today and I've been playing around with the new stamp sets.  The clear mounted stamp sets are gorgeous; the new satin ribbons are gorgeous; the Stitched Felt Sweet Pea felt pieces are adorable and the DSP is to die for!  Can you tell I love the new stuff?  All this will be available to you on 4 January 2009 and you are absolutely unequivocally going to love it!
