It’s time for another contest!

Good Morning Stampers!

I've been given a challenge by my stamping coach John Sanpietro to come up with an article regarding customer questions and answers.

Your mission, should you decide to accept, will be ask me a question, any question, about Stampin' Up! techniques, tools, stamps, accessories, etc.  I am not looking for originality but commonly asked questions.  And I could have come up with the Q&A myself but I thought it would be fun to include my readers!

The deadline to submit all questions is 15 December 2009.  And for this contest, I'll pick two winners!  I'll use random.org to select the winners.  The prize is $25.00 gift certificate for 1st place and $20 gift certificate for 2nd place and  I'll pay shipping and taxes.  Also, you can either redeem your certificate during December or next month during Sale-a-bration or for the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  How cool is that!!!

And, I almost forgot!  Your questions must be posted to this article.

This post will stay up at the top until 15 December 2009.  Please scroll down for the latest projects.

  1. Hi Rachel,
My question is: How do I sharpen my punches? I use mine a ton and some now have slightly ragged edges. I don’t want to have to purchace them again so any tips on sharpening them would be appreciated. Thanks.

  2. Hi Rachel,
Any suggestions on how to store punches so you can still see the fronts of each one and does not take up so much space. Thanks

  3. Hi Rachel,

I’ve always wondered about the ‘right’ way to re-ink an ink pad. Do you put dots of ink all around the pad or do you draw lines of ink? Also, how much re-inker do you use? And, one last part to the question. Once you add the ink, should you let the pad set for awhile before using it? TIA for your answers.

  4. Hi Rachel,
I have been told to use multiple sheets of paper when cutting out the BABW characters so cut down on time. How do you stick the face pieces on without tape showing? The pieces are so small I have problems sticking them on.

  5. Hi Rachel, I have a question for you…How do you decide what NEW Stampin’ Up! products to purchase? Like most people I do not have the funds to purchase everything new that comes out in a catalog, so I want to make my purchases count. Do I purchase what most people have bought (I can tell by the cards and items they are making) or do I go out on a limb and purchase a product that might not be as popular? I just want to get the most bang for my buck and have new products to use that will be popular with my customers.

    Thanks for you advise!
    Sherry

  6. Hi Rachel,
My question is what do you do if your Stazon ink drys out? Do you sell refills for those? Thanks for a chance to ask our questions.

  7. with the images that have a large solid inking space, how do you get the ink to cover it evenly and get a nice solid print without losing the detail on other parts of the stamp?

  8. When working with matching corner and border punches, what is the best way to line things up to get a perfectly bordered rectangle? Do I start with the corner or the border punch? Am I limited to certain sizes of rectangles?

  9. When embossing, how do you keep from getting the powder outside your design? I always seem to have stragglers.

  10. hi rachel,
i like to use the distressing tool on the little cutter kit. will the blade ever wear out or get dull? thanks.

  11. Hi Rachel,

my question is do the craft and classic inks look different after the stamped image is dry? Or do they stamp differently aside from one staying wet longer for embossing capability? I want to buy some ink pads in colors I use most often(currently I have ink spots)
    Thanks Rachel

  12. Rachel, What are you current favorite SU products? Also, what advice do you have for starting to purchase SU products and coordinating stamp sets and punches? Which are most versatile for a variety of card making occasions?
