How Should You Use Headings?

Headings aren’t just a visual style—they play a big role in structuring your content. If you want your WordPress posts or pages to be easy to read and navigate, using headings effectively is key.

Why Headings Matter

Headings do more than just break up text—they structure your content and make it easier to read. In WordPress, you can choose from different heading levels (H1 to H6). The main title of your post is usually H1, and you shouldn’t use it again in the body. From there, use H2 for main sections, H3 for sub-sections, and so on.

Well-organized headings help readers scan your content and improve your site’s accessibility and SEO. Think of them as signposts: they guide your audience through your article and make the content easier to understand. Avoid using headings just to style your text—stick to them for structure.
