Counting Sheep and Counting the Days

By | September 24, 2021

The star of today’s show is the Counting Sheep stamp set with the matching Sheep Dies.  Each of these is a free Level 1 ($50) selection in the Aug – Sep 2021 Sale-A-Bration catalog.  Spend $100 (before shipping & tax) and you can get them both!  But you must hurry because Sale-a-Bration ends on 30 September 2021! Only available for six more days.

This was such a fun and easy card to make that I decide to create a slimline card. I purposely left out the greeting – I will add it when it’s time to send out this adorable card.

Here’s what I did:

  1. Base card: Old Olive Cardstock (8 1/4″ x 6 1/4″). Fold in half using the Bone Folder for a sharp crease.
  2. Next layer: Balmy Blue Cardstock (8 1/8″ x 3″1/8″). Adhere to base card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  3. Top layer: Basic White Cardstock: (8″ x 3″).
    • Using the small clouds dies from the Sheep Dies as a template, lightly sponge top of cardstock with Balmy Blue to create the clouds.
    • Then lightly sponge the lower portion of the cardstock with Old Olive Ink. Stamp the grass image with Old Olive Ink randomly over the lower section.
    • Attach to the base card with our liquid glue.
  4. Sheep: Basic White Thick Cardstock (4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″). Stamp sheep images with Basic Gray Ink, color in with the Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Marker for the bodies and Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker for the cheeks. Die cut with the coordinating sheep dies.
  5. Fence: Crumb Cake Cardstock (3″ x 2″) Die cut fence with coordinating die.
  6. Attach fence to front of card (see picture for placement) with Stampin’ Dimensionals
  7. Attach sheep to front of card (see picture for placement) with Stampin’ Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today – have a great weekend!
