Soft Summer

I wasn't in the mood to stamp today but I did want to have a card for you.  I pulled out this image that I had colored several weeks ago.  The reason I didn't use it because I used the wrong color (should have used Bordering Blue instead Baja Breeze).  I inked up the brayer in Baja Breeze and added color to a piece of Au Chocolate DSP which was… Read More »

Fifth Avenue Floral

These flowers are addicting!  I was not one of the first one to buy this set, but after seeing all the beautiful cards everyone else was making, I knew I had to have it!  And I'm not sorry! This time I decided to try watercolor crayons.  I colored the main image in with the Perfect Plum crayon and then blended it in using a blender pen.  So much fun!  The pattern paper is… Read More »

Friends 24-7

I bet you are wondering where I got the gorgeous paper!  It is from the Au Chocolate DSP (retired) that I used yesterday.  The colors are Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla but I made it into Chcolate Chip and Regal Rose. I used the brayer and Regal Rose Classic ink giving it several coats.  I meant to take a picture of the piece of paper before I added the Regal… Read More »

Friends 24-7

Today was a very easy day for me.  The card on my other blog, Inspirations by Rachel, was made without any stamping.  This card includes some stamping but no coloring!  Yes!!! I love those kind of days. Recipe: Stamp Set: Friends 24-7 Paper:  Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Designer Series Paper Au Chocolate (retired) Ink:  Chocolate Chip Accessories:  Ivory Grosgrain Ribbon, Bigz Frame, Oval Scallop, Sponge, Flower from Michael's, Big Shot… Read More »

Watercolor Roses – one more!

I am having so much fun with this technique – I think it was originally shown at the Seattle Regionals.  I've made pink, yellow, purple and red/orange watercolor roses in the last couple of days. Here's a sneak peak at the purple and red/orange roses.  I've colored them but won't put them together for another week or so,  I don't want to bore you with too many cards using this… Read More »

5th Avenue Flower

I love the way this card turned out!  (I guess we can say that about our cards, can't we???).  Doesn't this look like the perfect Mother's Day card?  I saw the technique on Patty Bennett's blog and I knew right away I had to try it! I stamped the rose image on Shimmery White card stock using White Craft Ink.  I then added clear embossing powder and embossed with the… Read More »

Morning Soft

I love morning glories but they have such a short growing season and I don't get to enjoy them as long as I would like to.  I love the way they bloom in the morning and then once the sun hits them, they close up.  Today's card is called Morning Soft.  I first ink up the stamp using versamark, then inked it up with basic black.  I added clear embossing powder… Read More »

Fresh Cuts

Today's card was punched out using the Sizzix Bigz die Circle Scallop.  I'm really amazed how easy these dies are to use on the Big Shot.   I cut out Pale Plum card stock 4 x 8 and then folded in half.  I position the layer right below the top scallop so that I would have a hinge on top (makes sense???).  I then punched out two circles using the… Read More »

The Old and the New

A couple of posts ago, I stated how much I hate to use my designer series paper.  I tend to hoard it.  This is the first time I've used Parisian Breeze since I bought it.  I thought I would use it with one of my older but goody stamp set, Heartfelt Thanks. Today's card is also using Sketch SC224 from Splitcoast Stampers.  I stamped the main image in Brown Stazon… Read More »

Fifth Avenue Flower

It's a cold and windy day and this card is just perfect for this type of day.  You can't get more cheerful than a bright yellow card, can you? I cheated a little and did not use all SU products (gasp!!).  I wanted this ribbon for the card – the black gingham I had from SU did not look as good so I went with the organdy ribbon. Recipe:… Read More »
