Poinsettia Petals – Farmhouse Style

Well, it’s been a long 2 months but I’m back to making cards again. I’ve been blogging since 2009 and it’s soooo good to back! 🥰 Back on 30 June I tripped and fractured my elbow and was in a cast for several weeks. During this time, I fell again and received a concussion. My headaches are gone but my arm is not yet fully functional. But I’m back and… Read More »

Gather Together

I need a fall card for today’s post, so I reached for a retired stamp set that I haven’t given much love recently, — Country Livin‘. It’s a well used set and one of my all-time favorites.  It’s Simple, Pared down. Timeless. I paired it with the current Gather Together Stamp Set. I used the pumpkins from this set to add them to the back of the truck. I’d say… Read More »

Heartland

Today is my son, Louie’s, birthday. He would have been 55 years old – he died in 1995. After we moved to Arkansas, he enjoyed his frequent visits here and said he would come and live here to be near me. When Stampin’ Up! came up with the image of the little farm boy in the Heartland Stamp Set, I knew I would buy this set and always keep it.… Read More »

This Little Piggy

Today’s card features the This Little Piggy Stamp Set from the Annual Catalog. It’s one of the cuter whimsical images from the catalog. The image and greetings were stamped with Gray Granite Classic Ink. I then added Clear Emboss Powder and set it with the Heat Gun. Forgetting the ink is water based, I stamped with the ink and then tried coloring it in with an Aqua Painter. The outline… Read More »

Country Home

Today’s card features the Country Home Stamp Set.   The images in this set remind me of countryside, lemonade, and dried flowers. I used the Gala Gingham DSP Paper Stack (retired) to give the impression of an old table cloth – perfect setting for the milk can or jug. I also used the Country Floral Embossing Folder to contrast with the gingham stripes.  The images were colored using the Crumb Cake,… Read More »

Old Classic Car

Today’s card features a non-SU Stamp Set.  I wanted to make a card for my brother and I didn’t have any masculine stamps from Stampin’ Up! The truck image was stamped  with Early Espresso Ink, added Clear Embossing Powder and set with the Heat Tool.  The greeting was added just below the truck image. The background was created using the retired Pattern Party Decorative Masks.  I first sponged the Coastal… Read More »
