Building an effective newsletter

Here are some great tips from Debbie McNeill in building an effective newsletter:

Basically she mentions a bunch of tips but my favorites are

– to include a call-to-action

– special coupons (not everyone does this)

– special gift such as a free tutorial or maybe you are sharing a specific, special project with just them (your newsletter subscribers)

– make sure to have your Shop Now buttons in your newsletter so customers can shop quickly and w/o having to go to your blog or SU website.

– create a sense of urgency…you have one day left to sign up for SU and get a FREE big shot!

– share your personality, enthusiasm and positive attitude 😀

– Last but not least…Look Good – a professional organized newsletter

Some people find better results if they send out two newsletters a month…one in the first week of the month announcing the new promotions…and then another at the end to create the sense of urgency and that time is running out….

Also use a catchy subject line.

One last thought is that you can use your newsletter to deliver content to a specific group of people, like a mini-membership site.  You have then sign up for your newsletter for x-amount, say $4.95 a month and you will deliver a new stamping technique via your newsletter once a week for x-amount of weeks (months).
