I hope you had a wonderful weekend. The weather was gorgeous here and I spent the day with my grand kids. I took them to eat at Shake & Steak (their favorite) and then went to the movies to see Kung Fu Panda (What can I say, I'm still a kid at heart!). I enjoy those movies as much as the kids do.
Instead of the Bluebird of Happiness, maybe the correct title should be Bluebird of Sadness since this stamp set will be retiring on 30 June 2011. It's one of my favorite stamp sets called Friends 24/7. I loved the bird image in it and I think this is one set I will be hanging onto.
I paired it with the Blueberry Crisp Designer Series Paper which will also be retiring the last of this month.
The bird image was colored in using the Pacific Point, Old Olive and Soft Suede Stampin' Write Markers. It was stamped on Whisper White Card Stock and then layered with Pacific Point Card Stock and NIght of Navy Card Stock.. I added a button from the Regals Collection Designer Buttons and attached it to the card stock with Linen Thread. The upper right and lower left were spritzed with the Color Spritzer Tool and the Pacific Point Stampin' Write Marker to give that area some interest.
All the edges of the card stock and designer series paper were distressed using the Cutter Kit. The Cutter Kit is a portable handy kit that you can use to cut, perforate, score and distress. Perfect to take to crops with you.
