Beauty of the Season

By | August 6, 2014

My husband and I (we are both retired) sit outside on the back deck and drink our first cup of coffee every morning.  I love watching the birds at the bird feeder.  This morning a cardinal spent a lot of time at the bird feeder and I was inspired to make the below card.2-DSC03661 The bird was colored in using the Cherry Cobbler Assortment Blendabilities.  The branches were colored in using the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker and berries using the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Markers.

I used Watercolor Paper only because I wanted to wash the background with Soft Sky Classic Ink and our Aqua painters.
2-DSC03661The stitching on the lower left hand corner was made using the paper piercing tool and our piercing mat.  I then made (I think it’s called back stitches) stitches using the White Baker’s Twine and a needle.  I would have used a sewing machine but it’s in storage right now.
