Autumn Opulence Thanksgiving Card — Layered Leaves & Vintage Charm

Hi Crafty Friends

Enough about the weather, right?! The weatherman said 2024 was hotter than this year, but I sure can’t imagine it! 😅 Maybe making autumn cards will make me cooler! For today’s post I again selected the Autumn Opulence Designer Series Paper — I love it, and I can’t put it away. The colors of Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze, Golden Glow, and Cherry Cobbler are absolutely beautiful together.

Autumn Opulence Thanksgiving Card — Supply List & Instructions

This card came together in layers, so let’s start with the base. Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock, cut to 11″ x 4 1/4″, gets scored at the 5 1/2″ mark and folded in half with a Bone Folder to create the card base. From there, a piece of Autumn Opulence Designer Series Paper (DSP), cut to 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, becomes the first layer and gets adhered right to the base card.

For the second layer, Very Vanilla Cardstock is cut to 5 1/8″ x 3 3/4″ and run through the Stone & Vine 3D Embossing folder before being attached to the card — that texture adds so much dimension!

Now for my favorite part — the leaves. A piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock, cut to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, gets sponged all over using Dabber Sponges in Golden Glow, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Peaceful Pine, and Pecan Pie, then die cut with the large leaf die from the Nature’s Symphony’s Dies. A second leaf is die cut from a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Autumn Opulence DSP using that same die. The two die cuts are glued together, offsetting the bottom leaf slightly to the left of the top one, then attached to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a bit of lift.

The sentiment is computer generated and adhered to the front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. A 3-loop bow made from Linen Thread finishes off the leaves, and three small dots of Cajun Craze add just the right touch of sparkle.

Inside, Very Vanilla Cardstock is cut to 5 1/4″ x 4″ and attached, with a strip of Autumn Opulence DSP added along the left side. The envelope features another pattern from the same DSP collection — simply because I’d run out of the pattern used on the front!
