Flowering Meadow: Where Daisies Meet the Sky

Hi Crafty Friends

I am so excited to share this Flowering Meadow card with you today! 🌼 This one has such a dreamy, painterly feel to it, with that gorgeous sky in soft purples and blues peeking out behind a lush green tree, and a little pair of golden butterflies fluttering across the scene. But my favorite part has to be the white picket fence along the bottom, layered with the sweetest die-cut daisies in cream and yellow, tucked in among little leaves and even more butterflies. It’s the perfect mix of soft scenery and dimensional florals, and I can’t wait to show you how I put it together!

Flowering Meadow and Meandering Meadow DSP

I started with that gorgeous background image from the retired Meandering Meadow Designer Series Paper, which reminds me of stepping into a soft summer evening. The sky is washed in the prettiest purples and blues, with a lush green tree anchoring the scene, and if you look closely, you’ll spot a little pair of golden butterflies fluttering across the top. There’s something so calming about that color palette, and I knew right away I wanted to keep the rest of the card soft and natural to match.

Along the bottom, I added a picket fence, die cut from a picket fence die using the Waterside Retreat DSP, which I just love as a design element. It gives the card such a charming, garden-gate feel, like you’ve stumbled upon a little meadow tucked behind someone’s home. I layered in daisies cut with the coordinating dies from the Flowering Meadow Dies, using the sky background paper for the petals and little yellow flowers for the centers. Tucked in among them are leaves die cut from the trees in the Meandering Meadows DSP, so the whole arrangement looks like it’s really growing along the fence. A few more of those golden butterflies make their way across the flowers too, which ties the whole scene together so sweetly.

What I love most about this card is the dimension. Between the fence, the layered daisies, and the leaves peeking out, there’s so much texture to enjoy in person, it really does look like a little slice of meadow you could walk right into.

I always love sharing the little details you might miss at first glance! On the inside of the card, I carried that same dreamy meadow scene down the left edge, so it feels like a continuation of the front rather than a separate piece. And don’t skip the envelope flap either, I tucked the same soft, painterly retired Meandering Medow DSP right along the seal, so even before the card is opened, there’s a pretty surprise waiting.

I hope this card brings you a little bit of that peaceful, summery feeling too! If you give this design a try, I would love to see it, so be sure to share your version with me.
