Pride and Joy — A Safari Smiles Card Tutorial

Hi Crafty Friends!

Have you heard the big news about joining Stampin’ Up!? Starting July 1, 2026, the new demonstrator onboarding process is getting a serious upgrade — and honestly, it’s such a better deal! You’ll still get the amazing welcome box, plus a $125 product coupon once you’ve signed up. How great is that?! Head over to my blog for all the details, and while you’re at it, don’t forget to join this week’s card challenge over in our Stampin’ Addicts Facebook group — I’d love to see what you create! 🎉

If you haven’t discovered the Safari Smiles Bundle yet, you are in for such a treat! The line-art animal images are absolutely adorable — perfect for coloring or shading — and the coordinating dies cut such clean shapes and create the most gorgeous layered scenery backdrops. Whether you’re making a heartfelt family card or a scrapbook page bursting with personality, this bundle just delivers every single time.

I do have a little sad news to share, though — the Safari Smiles Stamp Set is currently out of stock. 😢 The good news is you can jump on the wait list and Stampin’ Up! will let you know the moment it’s back. Trust me, it’s worth the wait!

To start, I cut a piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock to 8½” x 5½” and folded it in half with a Bone Folder for a nice crisp crease. For the first layer, I cut a piece of the Delicate Dreams Designer Series Paper in the Mossy Meadow pattern to 5⅜” x 4⅛” and adhered it to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Next, I cut a piece of Basic White Cardstock to 5″ x 3½” and ran it through the largest die from the Textures Notes Dies, then gave it a beautiful texture with the Hundred Acre Woods 3D Embossing Folder before adhering it to the first layer.

For the focal image, I stamped the lions onto Basic White Thick Cardstock and had so much fun coloring them! I used Golden Glow Stampin’ Blends for their bodies and Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends for the lion’s gorgeous mane, then carefully die cut the whole sweet family using the coordinating die from the Safari Smiles Dies. The shrubs were die cut from Old Olive and Mossy Meadow Cardstock, the rocks from Gray Granite Cardstock, and the ground area beneath the lions from Pecan Pie Cardstock.

To bring it all together, I adhered the ground piece with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, then popped the lions, shrubs, and rocks up with Stampin’ Dimensionals for that wonderful dimensional look. The finishing touch? Three little Natural Matte Dots scattered across the card — see the photo for placement. Such a simple detail, but it really pulls everything together beautifully!

For the inside, I die cut a piece of Basic White Cardstock using the large die from the Textured Notes Dies and attached it to the card base for a clean, finished look. I stamped the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink, then added two sweet little paw prints just to the right of it — such a cute touch! A thin strip of the same Delicate Dreams Designer Series Paper from the front ties it all together beautifully.

To finish things off, I dressed up the envelope with a strip of that same gorgeous DSP. I cut it to 6″ x 2¼”, attached it to the envelope flap, and trimmed it to fit perfectly. It’s those little coordinating details that make the whole package feel so special! 💚
