How to Make a Handmade Birthday Card with Distressed Wood Background

Hello my Stampin’ Friends!

We finally got some much-needed rain in our area! Are you in the path of this large front that’s moving through?

I’m so glad this DSP carried over! The Country Woods 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) lets you create rustic yet sophisticated paper crafts that work for any occasion. These beautiful wood designs are incredibly versatile – you can dress them up for elegant projects or tone them down for a shabby chic aesthetic. The eye-catching colors combined with authentic wood patterns create that warm ‘there’s no place like home’ feeling.

Card Instructions:

Begin by folding your base card in half, using a Bone Folder to create a sharp, clean crease.
Attach Layers #1 and #2 to your base card, ensuring proper alignment.
Create the banner by die-cutting with the 5th largest die from the Party Banners Die set, then attach it to the card front.

For the sentiment (from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set), stamp your greeting using Misty Moonlight Ink on Basic White Thick Cardstock. Die-cut the stamped sentiment with an oval die (or your preferred shape) and attach it to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals for added depth.

Punch out four sets of leaves. Select three sets and arrange them on the card front, securing with Stampin’ Dimensionals to create dimension.
Complete your card by adding a gray bow made from the Bakers Twine Essentials Pack. Finish with embellishments from the Opal Rounds Assortment for the perfect final touch.

Inside of Card:

Stamp the sentiment from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set in the center of Layer #1, then attach this layer to the inside of your card.
Take one of the remaining punched leaves and adhere it to the lower right corner of the card’s interior for a coordinating finishing touch.

Envelope:

Attach DSP to the envelope flap and trim to fit.
