Welcome to InKing Royalty’s April Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites – our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects. This month’s projects feature a mix of butterflies and dragonflies – just in time for Spring. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
For today’s project, I decided to use the gorgeous Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper as the focal point of my card.
I used the frame die from the Nature’s Thoughts Dies and while I was in the stamp set, I noticed the hugs, prayers, love, greeting stamp. I decided to use the word Hugs from that image because everybody needs a hug now and then.
Card Measurements:
- Base card: Bermuda Bay Cardstock 11″ x 5 1/2″. Fold in half
- Next Layer: Basic Black Cardstock 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
- Next Layer: Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper 5 1/4″ x 4″
- Front Panel: Basic Black Cardstock 4 3/8″ x 3″
- Top Panel: Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper 4 3/8″ x 2 7/8″
- Greeting: Basic Black Scrap
- Greeting: Basic White Scrap
Please Note:
- Overall card was spritzed with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and the retired Color Spritzer Tool
- Larger butterfly was fussy cut from one of the sheets of the DSP, layered with Vellum Cardstock and spritzed with the Color Spritzer Tool. I darken the antennas with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.
- Smaller butterflies were also fussy cut with our Paper Snips, added scotch tape to the back to stablize them, colored them with the Clear Wink of Stella Brush and then the bodies and antennas were darked with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.
