Hello my Stampin’ Friends!
The weather here has been absolutely splendid lately! Though autumn has its charms, I’m relishing these lingering warm days. I hope you’re experiencing equally lovely conditions wherever you are.
My heart goes out to all those impacted by Hurricane Helene. The devastation caused by such storms is truly heartbreaking. I’m keeping the affected communities in my thoughts, hoping for their safety and swift recovery. ❤️
Today I made a special birthday card for my great-grandson, Ollie. I used a layer of DSP from the Full of Life 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. The Basic White Panel shows Winnie the Pooh holding a balloon (paper pieced from the same DSP) with Piglet by his side. To create a dreamy backdrop, I crafted a soft, cloud-like background using a cloud mask, Balmy Blue ink, and a blending brush. I’m really happy with how the whimsical design came together – the cute Pooh characters against the dreamy sky make for a perfect little one’s birthday card. I put a lot of love into every detail, and I hope Ollie will adore it as much as I enjoyed creating it for him!
The front panel (Basic White Cardstock) is framed by the Granny Apple Green Cardstock border with a slightly torn or deckled edge effect (Deckled Rectangle Dies), giving it a crafted feel.
I mounted the card on Blueberry Bushel cardstock, which you can see peeking out at the edges. For an extra pop of color and visual interest, I layered a piece of the Full of Life Designer Series Paper underneath. This DSP has a beautiful multicolored stripe pattern that transitions from blue to green, adding depth to my overall design. I love how these layers work together to create a more dynamic and eye-catching card front.
I’ve extended the same style and Designer Series Paper (DSP) to both the inside of my card and the envelope flap, creating a more cohesive look. By maintaining this consistent aesthetic throughout the entire greeting card set, I’ve ensured that the charming watercolor theme and color palette flow seamlessly from the front of the card to its interior and matching envelope.
