Hello Crafty Friends!
You would not believe how many attempts it took me to finally get a card made with the Cutest Crew Bundle! I did a lot of coloring — and a lot of making mistakes — because the images are so small. I also tried several other fun fold styles, but none of them felt quite right. Then I spotted a bridge card on Pinterest and said, “That’s it!”
The Cutest Crew Bundle brings together the most cheerful cast of cats, dogs, and birds, and I just love how they add so much charm to handmade cards and paper crafts! I paired some of the sweet sentiments with those adorable little critters to create playful scenes that are sure to brighten someone’s day. This bundle is all about sweet vibes, happy designs, and plenty of creative fun — and honestly, what’s not to love about that!
The Timeless Plaid 6×6 Designer Series Paper is one of my favorites, and I have to warn you — it’s on the Last Chance list and inventory is running low! If you’ve been thinking about adding it to your stash, now is the time. Once it’s gone, it’s gone for good!
To begin, I cut Lost Lagoon Cardstock to 8½” x 5½” and folded it in half using a Bone Folder for a sharper crease. I then cut into the base card 1¼” up to the score line, turned it around, and repeated the same cut on the other side, creating two 1¼” flaps — one on each side — which form the two side panels. I layered each panel with Basic White Cardstock cut to 5⅜” x 1⅛”, then added the Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper, cut to 5¼” x 1″, on top of the Basic White. For the center panel, I embossed a piece of Basic White Cardstock cut to 5⅜” x 1¾” using the All in a Row Embossing Folder, then attached it to the center Lost Lagoon Cardstock panel.
For the bridge, I cut Lost Lagoon Cardstock to 4¼” x 1⅛” and glued it to the front of the card, being careful to apply glue only to the side panels (see photo for placement). I then stamped the row of puppies from the Cutest Crew stamp set using Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them in with Crumb Cake, Gray Granite, and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. The accessories were colored using Poppy Parade and Pretty in Pink Stampin’ Blends, the flower petals in Pretty in Pink, and the leaves in Garden Green.
I cut the image strip to 4″ x 1″ and attached it to the Lost Lagoon Cardstock bridge. I then stamped two individual puppy images, coloring one in Daffodil Delight and the other in Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends. After fussy cutting both, I attached them on top of their coordinating puppies on the bridge — see the photo for placement. Finally, the sentiment was stamped in Tuxedo Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, trimmed to 1½” x ½”, and adhered to the center panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added a layer of Basic White Cardstock cut to 5¼” x 4″ and attached it to the base card. I then stamped a small puppy image using Tuxedo Black Ink and colored it in with Gray Granite for the body, Lost Lagoon for the scarf, Pretty in Pink for the flower, and Garden Green Stampin’ Blends for the leaves. I also attached the Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper to the envelope flap and trimmed it to size, giving the finished project a more cohesive look.
