The Unparalled Beautify and History of the Yellow Rose

By | May 5, 2010

Good Morning Stampers

Opener

Yellow roses speak of springtime, renewal and friendship. As a color of enduring friendship, faithful attention and devotion, yellow roses are a perfect choice to send to newlyweds, graduates and new mothers.

Yellow roses have always been my favorite – I love to receive them no matter the occasion.  The inspiration for today's card came from a rose bush that my husband bought me last week and transplanted on the upper deck.

Rose

My camera must be off because this is a yellow rose with a little bit of coral – hence the color scheme for today's card.  The colors I used are Cameo Coral, Barely Banana, Certainly Celery and Old Olive.

Elements-of-Style copy

  1. The main image was stamped with Basic Brown on Very Vanilla card stock. I have an oval template (chipboard) and used that for tracing the oval on the main image with Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker.
  2. I colored the roses with Barely Banana and Cameo Coral and the leaves with Certainly Celery and Old Olive. The branches are colored using Old Olive.
  3. I lightly spritzed around the edges with the Color Spritzer Tool and Close to Cocoa Stampin' Write Marker. The upper left and lower right were pierced with the piercing tool and mat pack.
  4. I took a strip of Cameo Coral and punched both edges with the decorative Scallop Trim Border Punch to give the card a dainty vintage look. A piece of Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon (gorgeous!!!) finished off the piece.
  5. The Very Vanilla card stock (layer over the base card) was fed through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dot Textured Impressions Folder.
  6. The bottom of the base card was punched with the Scallop Trim Border for a cohesive look
