Hello my Stampin’ Friends
When I spotted the Abundance Beauty Decorative Mask in the clearance section, I couldn’t resist picking it up. Though I’d admired it during its regular catalog run, I had somehow missed adding it to my collection. As fate would have it, this turned out to be perfect timing. A dear friend, who absolutely adores sunflowers, is currently going through rehabilitation, and I wanted to create something special to brighten her days.
Using this mask, I crafted this cheerful get-well card, hoping these golden blooms would bring a bit of sunshine to her recovery journey. Sometimes the best creative inspiration comes from combining a great deal with a heartfelt purpose.”
Let me walk you through the simple yet stunning layering process for these dimensional sunflowers. Starting with Mask #1, I gently applied Daffodil Delight ink using a blending brush, creating a soft base for the petals. For added depth and warmth, I followed with Mask #2, applying Crushed Curry ink to bring these sunflowers to life.
The finishing touches really made these blooms pop – Mask #3 allowed me to add Crumb Cake ink to create those perfect, natural-looking centers, while Mask #4 brought in the fresh Old Olive ink for the delicate leaves. Each layer of ink built upon the previous one, resulting in these beautifully dimensional flowers that seem to lift right off the page. I also added 3 Old Olive dots from the Faux Glass Dots for interest.
To carry the cheerful theme throughout, I added a sweet surprise on the inside – a delicately sponged small sunflower in the lower left corner.
While Stampin’ Up! doesn’t offer beige envelopes in their collection, I opted for a bright yellow one that perfectly complements the card’s sunflower theme. For a polished final touch, I stamped ‘kindly deliver to’ in Early Espresso ink on the envelope front, adding that perfect blend of vintage charm and thoughtful detail. The stamp is from the Expressions of Kindness Kit (currently on sale).
