Peaceful Petals in Elegant Eggplant

By | February 2, 2014

So is everyone ready for football?  I’m cheering for the Broncos –  what team will you be cheering for?  Don’t forget to check out my Super Bowl Special on my previous post.

aPeaceful-Petals-1This card is for a dear friend of mine (Rita) whom I’ve know since high school and we’ve kept in touch throughout the years.  When I was in CA for my 70th birthday, it was so nice to see her and my other close girlfriends, Becky and Diana.  Becky was Niña to my daughter, Stephanie; I was Niña to Becky’s daughter, Lisa and Diana was Nina to Becky’s daughter, Diana.  Confusing?  Nina means Godmother.

aPeaceful-Petals-3I made up my own pattern paper again.  See this card for the 1st time I decided to make my own pattern paper.  I know this technique has been around for a long time, but it is the first time I tried using it.  The Very Vanilla Card stock was stamped with the floral image in Elegant Eggplant and the leaves in Pear Pizzazz.

close-upThe large floral image was stamped on Vellum Paper with Versamark, added White Emboss Powder and set with the Heat Tool.  I painted the petals using  Elegant Eggplant and an Aqua Painter.

I then punched some Elegant Eggplant Card Stock with the scallop punch to add to back of the vellum floral image.  You can see it in the picture to the right.

Because I wanted a personalized birthday sentiment, I used My Digital Studio for the greeting.  I could have used word but I wanted to print it out in Elegant Eggplant.   I used a non-SU framelit to die cut the greeting.

This is the inside of the card – I added the floral image to the inside on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  When masculine cards, I usually leave the inside blank but I liked to add a little something to the feminine cards.  I forgot to take pictures but I also used some of the pattern paper for the envelope liner and stamped the floral image on the front of the envelope.
