Today’s post features the cute and adorable Nuts About Squirrels Stamp Set. I think this is one of the cutest stamp sets in the catalog. It has a two step process which lets you add color and texture to your. images.
I was drawn to this whimsical set because my husband (like so many others) has a hate/love relationship with the squirrels in our area. We have gone through so many bird feeders looking for one that a squirrel cannot get into. In the end, he just fills it every other day and lets the squirrels eat to their hearts’ content. His favorite meme:
I used two stamp sets for today’s card: The Nuts about You and the Nature’s Beauty stamp sets.
What I did:
- Background sky created using the clouds die from the Basic Border Dies. Used Misty Moonlight Ink and a Sponge Brush.
- Grass (image from Nature’s Beauty Stamp Set) was stamped with Old Olive Ink.
- Front Panel was die cut using the largest die from the Stitched with Whimsy Dies.
- Squirrel (line image) was stamped with Basic Gray Ink. Solid image was stamped with Smokey Slate Ink, and fussy cut with our Paper Snips.
- Acorn (line image) was stamped with Early Espresso Ink. Top of acorn (solid image) was stamped with Soft Suede Ink. Bottom of acorn (solid image) was stamped with Crumb Cake Ink. Acorn was then fussy with our Paper Snips.
- Sentiment was stamped with Misty Moonlight Ink.
Card Measurements:
- Base Card: Mossy Meadow Cardstock (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″). Fold in half with a Bone Folder for a sharp crease.
