That’s how old my great-grandson Ollie is and OMG – I completely forgot his birthday!😟 🎂 🎁 🎉 🎊 Since I didn’t have any stamp sets for small children, I decided to use the retired Number of Years Stamp Set and Large Numbers Dies. I need to stock up on stamp sets for young children – that seems to be the only category that I don’t have. Do any of you have the same problem? That you are lacking in a certain category?
I selected the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper because I’m working on a quilt for my grandson that contains foxes and other forest animals. For his first birthday, I even scanned that fabric and used it as the background for his card. Here’s the card:
Card Measurements:
- Base card: Misty Moonlight Cardstock (11″ x 4 1/4″)
- Next Layer: Canjun Craze Cardstock (5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
- DSP: Playful Penguins Designer Series Paper (5 1/4″ x 4″)
- Front panel layer 1: Misty Moonlight Cardstock (4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″)
- Front Panel layer 2: Cajun Craze Cardstock (4 3/8″ x 3 1/8″)
- Front Panel layer 3: Basic White Cardstock (4 1/4″ x 3″)
- DSP: 2 1/4″ x 1 1/4″ (for #2)
- DSP: Fox
What I did:
- Take base card and fold in half using a Bone Folder for a sharper crease.
- Adhere next layer to base card with our Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
- Take the DSP and attached it to the card using the liquid glue.
- Stamp sentiment on front panel in Misty Moonlight.
- Die cut the number two using the same DSP as the background with the coordinating Large Numbers Die. Glue to front of front panel (see card).
- Emboss with the Subltes 3D Embossing Folder.
- Cut out one of the foxes from the DSP leaving a wide margin and attach the Foam Adhesive Sheets. Fussy cut with our Paper Snips and attach to front panel.
- Adhere layers #2 and #2 to front panel.
- Add Foam Adhesive cut to size of the front panel.
- Attach to the front of the card.
Inside of card:
The sentiment was computer generated because I wanted to personalize the card. The adorable cute little fox is fussy cut from the same DSP as used in the front.
Thanks for stopping by today – have a great Monday!

That’s adorable, Rachel. He will love it whenever he gets it. At age 2, one day is the same as another. Enjoy your day!
Thank you Hilda – enjoy your day also! Always nice to hear from you.
This whole post is absolutely adorable! I find sometimes the less I have the more focused and artistic I have to be and have also found those are the projects I’ve liked the most. Happy birthday to your great grand baby.
