Hi Stampers
Hope everyone is enjoying the labor day weekend. On Monday, we are having a Santa Maria style barbeque with Tri-Tip (if you are from Southern California, you know about Santa Maria style barbeque). It's the best and my mouth is so watering!
A couple of the tree around here have started to turn and I thought I would make a card to celebrate that and the end of summer! I decided to use the Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set, one that has been around for several years and is still a favorite versatile set of mine.
I'm also using the Simply Scored Tool around the edge of the card. I just love the way it is so easy to use and that you use a stylus instead of a bone folder. The stylus tip comes in two sizes so that you can choose the size of your score lines. With the bone folder it was only one thin line. And, you were always afraid to press too hard because there was a chance that you would tear the paper when you were scoring.
I used the Versamark, Tangerine Tango Stampin' Emboss Powder, and Wild Wasabi Stampin' Emboss Powder on the leaves to give it that fall color. To get both embossing powders on at the same time, I just lightly sprinkled a little bit in each section with a teaspoon. I then lightly taped the back of the tree to get all the excess off.
Don't forget that the free stamp set of the month for September is $25.00 worth of Stampin' Up! products (I'll pay shipping and taxes). All you have to do is order online at my Stampin' Store and your name is automatically entered into the contest. Drawing will be on 1 October 2011.
Thanks for stopping by today!
