Good Afternoon my Stampin’ Friends!
The clearance rack sale yesterday was a big hit – items flew off the shelves! I hope you had a chance to snag some deals before everything sold out.
This birthday card is for my son-in-law, David Jr. We have quite a collection of Davids in our close family circle:
- My husband David
- Our son David Andrew
- My son-in-law David Jr.
- David Jr.’s father, also named David
- My grandson David Ray
With so many Davids around, family gatherings can get a bit confusing!
This card with a masculine design has a central focus which is a digital print out (non SU) and depicted in a minimalist style. The figure is wearing a jacket colored in with the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Marker. The shirt is colored with the Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends Markers, with short dark hair, but the face is colored with the Petal Pinks Stampin’ Blends Markers. The illustration is framed by a Basic White Cardstock, die cut from the Deckled Rectangle Dies and bordered by the Misty Moonlight Cardstock.
The card has a rustic, layered look with a wood grain pattern from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper (DSP) visible behind the main image. The words “Happy Birthday” are from the Charming Sentiments and placed below the figure. Three small metallic studs or brads (from the Brushed Metallic adhesive Back Dots) are placed at the bottom of the white paper for added decoration.
To create a more unified appearance, I incorporated the same Designer Series Paper (DSP) for both the interior border of the card and the envelope flap. This consistent use of pattern ties the entire project together, enhancing the overall cohesive look of the birthday card.

Add fanciful flair to your projects with the Pecan Pie & Clear Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots. The unique crisscross pattern on these dots makes a great addition to themed projects that use ribbon or stitching. Use the colored gems individually for a monochromatic look or use together for more sparkle and dimension.
