Hello my Stampin’ Friends!
Today’s card includes both a Happy Valentine’s Day and a Happy Anniversary card for my husband of 32 years. I thought I would include how we were married.
High in the Colorado Rockies, where the crisp winter air meets the clouds, a uniquely romantic tale unfolded. When our journey began in 1992 with a proposal that came with a choice – I would select the date, he would choose the place – I couldn’t resist the allure of Valentine’s Day. My future husband matched my romantic spirit perfectly by picking Loveland Ski Area near Denver, living up to its fitting name.
There, atop Lift #2, with the majestic mountains as their witness, they exchanged vows in a ceremony that truly peaked at 12,000 feet. The celebration that followed was perhaps the only wedding in history where everyone – including the minister – traded the traditional wedding march for an exhilarating ski run down the mountain. Now, each February 14th carries a double meaning, marking both Valentine’s Day and the anniversary of our mountaintop love story.
This handmade card features a Misty Moonlight and Crumb Cake color scheme, creating a rustic yet elegant design. The base layer uses Misty Moonlight cardstock, topped with a textured Crumb Cake burlap background from the Floral Delight 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) and a vertical Misty Moonlight Cardstock stripe down the center.
The focal point is a Basic Beige circle die-cut, from the Spotlight on Nature Dies, with decorative piercing around the edge. A delicate vine heart design from the Heart Shaped Bundle in Misty Moonlight creates a beautiful wreath effect, while a banner across the center features the sentiment “MY HEART LOVES YOUR HEART” in a simple font.
The card incorporates the Timeless Plaid 6 x 6 DSP peeking out from the corners, adding a subtle coordinate to the overall design.
Using the Celebrating You Bundle, first stamp the heart image in Misty Moonlight ink using the stamp-off technique on Basic Beige cardstock, then stamp the sentiment directly in Misty Moonlight ink for a bolder impression, and finish by coordinating the envelope flap with the same Designer Series Paper that’s featured on the card front for a polished, pulled-together look.
