Greeting Card Kids and another blog contest

By | October 7, 2010

Hi Stampers

Opener

Today's card is one the ladies will be making at Friday's class.  I simply adore this little girl from the Greeting Card Kids Stamp Set.  The cutesy image is right out of a vintage storybook.  The kind my Mother used to read to me (yes, I'm that old!).   My granddaughter Rachel loves the little girl and calls her Sophie!  I don't where she got the name  from but she seems to name a lot of dolls and stuffed animals Sophie.

The little girl was stamped with Basic Black and colored in using Stampin' Write Markers. For her face, I used Blush Blossom and Pretty in Pink for the cheeks.  Her dress is Rich Razzleberry.  The hat and cape are colored in using Basic Black and Old Olive for the leaves underneath the pumpkin.  The DSP is Wicked Fun Specialty and was layered using Rich Razzleberry Card Stock.  I used Black Lace Trim with a Rhinestone at the knot.  Oh, I almost forgot!  The background is the Spider Web Embossing Folder which was lightly inked with Whisper White Craft Ink.

And now I think it's time for another blog contest!  Let me know your favorite Halloween Stamp Set or if you don't celebrate Halloween, your favorite fall stamp set.  The prize is the French Foliage Stamp Set (W or C – your choice). The contest will run until 15 October and I'll announce the winner on this blog on 16 October.  You can leave a comment on any post between now and 15 October.  If the winner does not claim her/his prize by 22 October, I'll draw another name.

Thanks for stopping by today.

    Hi Rachel,
I am loving the Wicked Cool stamp set that’s new out. I’ve always loved to send Halloween Cards….even to the special grownups in my life. I think it kinda makes them feel young again remembering Halloween pasts.
    hugs,
    Debbie

I’m using the Batty for You set for Halloween treats this year. I’ve seen a ton of ideas with the new Wicked Cool stamp set. I didn’t like it at first but it’s growing on me. Thanks for the chance to win an awesome set. jmniffer

The embossed web looks so neat with the white ink. Great coloring of ‘Sophie.’

Currently, Wicked Cool is my favorite Halloween set. I’ve always liked Batty for You, House of Haunts, & Autumn Harvest too.

    Cute addition to your banner!

I love that your grandaughter came up with the name Sophie. Somehow it fits! I would have to say that right now my favorite Halloween stamp set is Wicked Cool. I just love those legs! I can’t wait to Boo my neighbors!

Rachel I am from New Zealand where we dont really celebrate Hallowen but I got to say I wished we did get some of the hallowen stamps over here my boys would love them. I dont know it’s name but the one with the owl sitting in the spooky tree. The boys would think that was a “cool” stamp. Love you blog
( if it not for people overseas please dont enter me but I just rant about our lack of Hallowen stamps)

Wicked Cool has to be my most fav this year as there are so many fun things to go with it such as the paper. I ordered both along with the cute bat punch and those cool glimmer brads. I have seen so many fun ideas done up with this set and so it has really got me going with ideas. –Valerie

“fall for all” (retired) is one of my favorite fall stamp sets. the boy sitting in the pile of leaves reminds me of my grandson, carter, whose birthday is in october.
