Good Morning Stampers!

Opener

Today's card is for someone very special in my life.  Her birthday is in May but I won't give her name here because she is a subscriber to my blog.  She may think it's for her but she won't know for sure because I have five birthdays in May that I have to make cards for and they all fit into the category of "special".  I have two close girlfriends, one daughter, one granddaughter, one sister and one "new" friend.  So I'll let them all keep guessing!

Folk-Flowers copy

Pearls I used the stencil from Folk Flowers from the Occasions Mini.  I sponged the colors, Regal Rose and Champaign Mist (shimmer paint) onto Very Vanilla card stock with a sponge dauber.  You can't see the shimmer in the photo but it really is quite lovely.

I then added pearls (non SU) to different parts of the flower.  I almost forgot!  I ran the Very Vanilla card stock after it dried through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dot Textured Embossing Folder to give it a "springy" look.  Speaking of polka dots – I was at Christopher and Banks the other day and tried on a polka dot blouse.  It was so pretty and spring like but I thought, "it may look good for spring but not for this body!"  I guess I'm pass the age where polka dots look good on me.

RibbonThe ribbon is Ivory Organza (SU retired) and is one of my favorite ribbons.  I don't know what I will do when I finally run out of this ribbon because it's one of my favorites and I love to use it on very feminine type cards. It's not obvious in the photo,  but I put the heat gun to the bow until it started to crinkle up.  Very pretty look.

Sentiment

The sentiment (from Vintage Labels in the Sale-a-bration Mini Catalog) was stamped with Regal Rose Classic Ink and punched out with the small oval punch. The 2nd layer is also from Vintage Labels - it was stamped with Regal Rose Classic INk and punched out with the Scallop Circle Punch.  The bottom layer is Regal Rose card stock and was punched out with the 1 3/4" circle punch.

Well, that's it for today – thanks so much for stopping by.
