DIY: Simple Elegance: A Sympathy Card with Love & Strength

By | March 17, 2026

Hi Craft Friends

Sympathy cards are some of the most meaningful cards we can make, and I always want them to feel heartfelt without being overdone. This card using the Love & Strength stamp set is one of my favorites because it’s simple, elegant, and says exactly what needs to be said.

Love & Strength

Card Measurements:

  • Base Card: Basic White Thick Cardstock (11″ x 4 1/4″)
  • Layer #1: Basic White Cardstock (5 1/4″ x 4″)
  • Front Panel: Basic White Thick Cardstock (4 1/2″ x 3 1/2″)
  • Layer #1 for inside of card: Basic White Cardstock (5 1/4″ x 4″)

To begin, I scored and folded the base card in half, then ran a Bone Folder along the crease for a nice sharp edge. I embossed Layer #1 with the Old World 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to the base card. Next, I stamped the floral image from the Love & Strength stamp set in Tuxedo Black and colored it in using Fresh Freesia for the flower and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends for the leaves.

The sentiment from the Special Moments stamp set was stamped in Tuxedo Black just below the floral image, then I die cut the panel using the coordinating oval die from the Layered Ovals Dies. I finished it off by adhering it to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little lift.

For the inside of the card, I stamped a small floral image from the Simply Beautiful stamp set in the lower right corner of Layer #1 and colored it in using Fresh Freesia for the flower and Old Olive for the leaves, then attached it to the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

To finish things off, I used the same embossing folder on the envelope flap, giving it that extra polished, professional touch that really ties the whole project together.
