DIY Notebook Paper Card Tutorial: Create a ‘Just a Note’ Greeting Card

By | October 19, 2025

Hello my Crafty Friends!

How is your weekend going? It’s a beautiful day today, though cold for us at 47 degrees—but that’s okay because I’m wearing sweats and socks, so I’m all set. Let me know what you’re up to today!

Reach out to someone who could use a little encouragement today! The Just a Note Bundle makes it easy to create a personalized notecard—just add your stamped sentiment and use the lined design to write a heartfelt message by hand.

Just a Note Bundle

For my card base, I started with a pink plaid patterned paper (5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″) (can’t remember name of DSP) and mounted it on a Basic White card base (11″ x 4 1/4″). The soft pink background gives the whole card a gentle, feminine feel.

Next, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock (4″ x 3″) and used my Just a Note stamp set to create the lined paper effect.

I then stamped “Just a note” with Tuxedo Black Ink across one of the middle lines. I love how this sentiment looks handwritten right on the notebook paper!

To create the notebook edge, I used the coordinating die from Just a Note Dies to make the scalloped holes along the left side, then layered this white piece over a Old Olive cardstock (4″ x 3″) backing that peeks through the holes.

For the floral elements, I used the Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape die cut with the coordinating Extraordinary Flora Die . I placed a small pink flower near the top and created a larger floral cluster in the bottom right corner.

To finish, I tied a pink baker’s twine bow (can’t remember the name of the twine) around the top left corner, threading it through the punched holes to really sell that notebook effect.

For the inside of my card, I kept it simple by adding a Basic White Cardstock (5″ x 3 3/4″) and then adding the decorative scalloped border (from the Just a Note Dies) along the bottom edge using the same DSP from the front. This gives a coordinating finish while leaving plenty of clean white space for my handwritten message.

I added a small floral cluster to the envelope flap using the same Extraordinary Floral Washi Tape. It’s a sweet surprise detail that shows extra care while keeping the design cohesive throughout the entire project.
