Create a Stunning Peace on Earth Holiday Card Using Embossing, Gold Accents, and Simple Stamping Techniques
First, I began with a Very Vanilla card base and layered it with a slightly smaller Very Vanilla panel. Before adhering to the base, I stamped the main image with Early Espresso Ink. I then ran the panel through an embossing folder (Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder) to create a subtle, textured background with a crinkled paper effect. I then ran a Blending Brush lightly over the embossed panel using Pecan Pie Ink. I mounted this textured panel onto a thin Pecan Pie border to add an elegant frame to the design.
I stamped the star image with Versamark, added Gold Embossing Power and then heat set with our Heat Tool. I added the star to the upper right corner to represent the Star of Bethlehem, positioning it to guide the shepherd’s gaze. This star adds a perfect touch of shimmer to the otherwise understated design.
To finish the card, I die-cut, using the Stylish Shapes Dies, a small banner from Very Vanilla cardstock and stamp “Peace on Earth” in Early Esspresso Ink. I attached this banner at an angle across the lower portion of the card using dimensional adhesive for subtle depth. As a final embellishment, I added a delicate gold cord bow, from the Simply Elegant Trim, to the left side of the sentiment banner, allowing its ends to curl naturally for added visual interest.
I used Pecan Pie ink to add three coordinating touches to complete the card: the sentiment from Shepherd’s Care stamped near the top inside, a small village scene at the bottom inside, and the same village image on the envelope flap. This careful placement ties the whole design together with a cohesive look.
