Deck the Halls

By | December 8, 2010

Hi Stampers

I finally got started on my Christmas Cards.  I decided to keep them simple and used the Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper.  I loved this DSP which has some of my favorite vintage classic images such as boughs of holly, poinsettias and musical notes.

I plan on making 100 of these and in the mail by the 15th of the month!  And I can do it because I have my little helper the My Digital Studio to assist me!

All the cards will have the same main image with the various Deck the Halls DSP as the background.  The Peace Love Joy sentiment is from the All the Holidays Stamp Brush Set Digital Download.  The berry and leaves are from the Deck the Halls Photocard Digital Kit Digital Download.  I printed out the images on Very Vanilla Card Stock  - 4 to a sheet.

Peace-Love-Joy
I colored the images using the Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Marker for the leaves (Always Artichoke was too dark) and the Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Marker for the berries.  Some of the main images will be sponged with Crumb Cake Ink and spritzed using the Color Spritzer Tool and Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker to give them a more vintage look.  I've added the Victoria Crochet Trim 5/8" Ribbon to some of the cards and others will have a strip of card stock punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.

Tip:  An easy way to make sure that your ribbon is lined up straight across the card, is to line up your card stock using the lines on your grid paper.  I place the card stock face down and bring the ribbon around the back adhering with a strip of adhesive.  I'll count the squares on each side to make sure it's lined up properly.  I used to eyeball it but that isn't working out anymore!

I hit the 100,000 mark a couple of day ago – WHOOHOO!  I'll have some blog candy to celebrate this event.  The details will be posted in the next couple of days.  Thanks to all my faithful readers!

Such a pretty & festive card. I’m still working on my cards too, but I only make about 1/3 of what you make.

Rachel You sure take the cake for the most elegant christmas cards. I still have the very first one you sent us so long ago, I want to say about 5-7 years ago and it had a morning glory on it. I always wondered how’d she do that 😉

Thanks Lisa – I don’t know why we have to send out so many but
it’s the only time of the year we keep in touch with several of our friends.
