Custom Birthday Cards Made Simple: Stamping for Every Occasion

By | March 26, 2025

Hello My Stampin’ Friends

How is spring in your area? It’s absolutely amazing here, and I’m loving the warmer weather. I have the most amazing Granddaughter, Rachel. Yes, she is named after me! She came over today to help with putting together the baby’s playpen and bassinet.

Today’s card features a handmade birthday design with a watercolor style. This card has a clean, modern look with a masculine color scheme, perfect for birthday celebrations. The image is not from Stampin’ Up! I usually use graphics from this digital website for all my grandsons. They are all in their 20s and 30s, and these designs seem more appropriate for the kind of cards I want to give them.

I downloaded and printed the image on Basic White Cardstock. Then I colored the face and arms with Petal Pink, the pants with Boho Blue, the belt with Crumb Cake, and the hair with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. The shirt was paper pieced using the Full of Live 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP). I cut the front panel with the largest die from the Deckled Rectangle Dies, then layered that panel with a thin border of Basic Black Cardstock.

The background DSP was also layered with a thin border of Basic Black Cardstock and adhered to the front base card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The front panel was attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals at an angle for more interest.

The “Happy Birthday” is from Canva and was printed out at the same time as the image. I also added 3 small dots from the Matte Black Dots Embellishments.

Basic White Cardstock was cut using the Deckled Rectangles Dies and then a small thin border of Basic Black Cardstock was added. A strip of the same DSP used on the front was also used for the inside of the card.
