Creating Heartfelt Sympathy Cards: A Delicate Forest Design

By | November 3, 2025

Hello my Crafty Friends!

I love how this sympathy card turned out! The layered trees in soft greens create such a peaceful woodland scene against the white background, and the scripted sentiment flows beautifully across the design. It’s a gentle, nature-inspired way to express condolences that feels both elegant and comforting.

Though the Delicate Forest Stamp Set is retired, I decided to use it because of its simplicity, which I feel a sympathy card should have.

Card Measurements:

  • Base Card: Basic White Cardstock (11″ x 4 1/4″)
  • Layer #1: Basic White Cardstock (5 1/4″ x 4″)
  • Inside of card: Basic White Cardstock (5 1/4″ x 4″)

Take your base card and fold it in half, using a Bone Folder to create a sharp crease.

Card Front:

  • Stamp the small mound image with Mossy Meadow Ink in the center of Layer #1
  • Stamp the tree image with Mossy Meadow Ink in the center of Layer #1
  • Without re-inking, stamp the tree image again to the left of the main tree
  • Without re-inking, stamp the tree image once more to the right of the main tree
  • Stamp “With Deepest Sympathy” with Mossy Meadow Ink on the lower right of the card front
  • Attach Layer #1 to the base card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Card Inside:

  • Stamp the tree image on the right side of Layer #1 and attach using Multipurpose Glue

Envelope:

  • Stamp the tree image with Mossy Meadow Ink on the lower left side of the envelope
