Come to Bethlehem

By | November 26, 2010

Hi Stampers

Are you still full from Thanksgiving?  I certainly am!  Hope you are enjoying your Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

I saw a video on Dawn Griffith's blog on how to make a card using the Come to Bethlehem Stamp Set with the dazzling diamond background.  I didn't have that stamp set but I knew I had just purchased it as a MDS download so I decided to case her card.  Dawn used Certainly Celery for the background color; I'm using Riding Hood Red.

The image and sentiment is from Come to Bethlehem Stamp Brush Set.  I printed the image and sentiment on Very Vanilla Card Stock and then layered it with Very Vanilla and Basic Black Card Stock.  To make this gorgeous background all you need to do is sponge the versamark inkpad all over the outer edges of the Riding Hood Red base card – just the areas that will be visible after you'd added the main image.  Add Heat and Stick Powder and heat with the heat tool until it melts.  Add Dazzling Diamonds and heat set again.  The background is beautiful and shimmery.

The My Digital Studio is only $39.98 – 50% off the price of $79.95.  So, if you ever remotely considered purchasing the MDS but thought it was too expensive, now if the time to buy one.

Tomorrow I'll have another card using the MDS,   I think they are called hybrid cards because I'll print the image,  color it with markers,  and layered it on card stock.

Thanks for stopping by today
