Thoughts Prayers

Good Morning Stampers! I hope everyone had a wonderful and "full" Thanksgiving.   We finished the last of the left overs this evening and it was as good as the first bite yesterday. I made today's card for Pals Paper Arts – KISS – PPA18 (Keep it simple).  The only stamping on this card is for the sentiment which was stamped with Almost Amethyst Craft Ink.  The background was embossed using… Read More »

Kaleidoscope

This card was cased from Heather Pulvirenti of Clean & Simple.  She used a Fisker's punch called Upper Crest Punch and I knew I could duplicate that look using our Curly Label Punch.  The paper is from Kaleidoscope Designer Series paper.  It's late and I want to go to bed – I'll the card directions and supplies on the blog tomorrow. 10/30 update:  Download a printer friendly version of the supplies… Read More »

Autumn Days

I bet when I told you I was working on an Autumn Days card, you thought I was working on a fall or Autumn card.  Surprise!  Here's the one I was working on: I decided to go for the bold look and picked the colors Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede.  Are they pretty together?  The DSP is Thoroughly Modern and the stamp set is Autumn Days.  The ribbon is the Bermuda… Read More »

Shabby Chic

I'm really happy with the way this card came out.  I tried using the Medallion background stamp before and I wasn't too happy with the results.  Then one of my readers (Thanks Jeanealogist!) recommended I emboss it.  I tried it and I like.   Tell me what you think of my card.   Layer 1:  Base Card (Naturals Ivory) Cut to 5 1/2 x 11.  Scored and folded in half… Read More »

Clean & Simple

I made today's card using Clean and Simple Card Sketch FTL #56.  As you can see I didn't exactly stick to the original sketch. Here's the sketch: But I did keep it clean and simple.  I am beginning to love this type of card because they are so easy and quick to make.  For the flower and scrolls, I used the Lovely Flower Rub-on's from the Lovely Flowers Bundle, Hostess Level… Read More »

Happy Everything

Today's post includes a card that was very easy and quick to make.  I used the new Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper.  I love the colors in it, especially Elegant Eggplant.  Today's card doesn't include that color because I wanted to keep it masculine and most men would not want a birthday card that had purple in it! I stamped Happy Birthday (using the stamp-a-ma-jig, of course) on Sahara Sand… Read More »

Thoughts and Prayers

Today's card is clean and simple – the most popular type of card as determined by you (my readers!).  See next post for survey results. We'll be making this card at next week's stamp camp so if you live in the area (Bella Vista, AR) and would like to attend, please e-mail me. The base card was made by running a 4 1/4" x 11" folded in half through the… Read More »

Scenic Season

It's 90 degrees outside, I'm playing James Blunt "You're Beautiful" on my IPOD and I'm making Christmas Cards!  Life does not get better than this!  Today's card is for my Christmas in July class on 2 September 2009. This card is cased from the catalog (page 35).  I changed a couple of things, i.e., ribbon is different and the sentiment is a different color than the trees.  At the Christmas… Read More »

Thinking of you

Today's post includes a card I made for my Stamp Camp scheduled for 26 August 2009 at my home in Bella Vista, AR.  So if you live in the area and would like to attend, please contact me. To me, a sympathy card calls for clean and simple lines and that's what this one is. No embellishments, layers or multicolors.  I cannot remember where I got the sketch but it… Read More »

Medallion

I finally received my Medallion background stamp.  I had been saving the Nouveau Chic Designer Series Paper for that special stamp and decided to use the Medallion background stamp with it. I am not very happy with the way it is stamping.  I can't get it dark enough nor a clear dark image and I was using basic black.  I tried sanding the stamp, using the brayer to make sure the… Read More »
