This is it!

This is it!  My last card of the 2009 Spring Summer Idea Book & Catalog.  This stamp is also retiring along with the DSP which is Sweet Slumber Specialty. I've announced the winner of my blog candy in the previous post.  It's Jessica Kerr so if you know her, let her know.  Also, I have some more blog candy (see top of page) to celebrate that my site has been viewed 5,000 in… Read More »

Pocket Silhouettes – Man’s Style

This card is from one of the cards for stamp camp held on Wednesday, 24 June 2009.  I always try to have at least one new item/accessory at each stamp camp.  This time is was using the crop-a-dile and jumbo eyelets.  The card was inspired by one from Mary Fish of Stampin' Pretty.  She makes the most amazing masculine cards!  Thanks for visiting! To purchase any of these items or… Read More »

Look Ma – no stamps!

Today's post includes a simple card I made in less than ten minutes.  The DSP is from Urban Oasis which is retiring 30 June.  No stamping is involved and it only has one layer.  The sentiment was computer generated. Though you can't see it,  I ran Kraft craft card stock through the Top Note Die and adhered it to the inside.  Thanks for visiting! To order 24/7 click here Recipe:… Read More »

It’s Grad Time

I made a card for my grandson last week but used the wrong school colors.  I used red & white (my old high school colors) instead of blue and white.  I must have been having a "Bella Vista Moment!" as we are fond of saying around here. Here's his card Again, I am using the Great Grads Stamp Set which is retiring the end of this month.  Too bad because… Read More »

Great Grads

Today's card is for my grandson, Tanner.  I cannot believe he is graduating from the eighth grade and will be in high school next year.  Time flies by so fast! This is one of the stamp sets that will be retiring this year.   If you have been wanting this set and have not gotten around to purchasing it, now is the time to do it! The paper  I used for this… Read More »

Give a man a fish……

Hope everyone is enjoying this 3 day weekend.  The weather in our area is beautiful so you can believe I am making the most out of this holiday.  If you have a chance, hop on over the Cards for Hereos and participate in their blog hop.  It's for a very worthy cause – cards for our troops – it can't get any more worthy than that.  I'm listed on the right… Read More »

Designer Embossing

Today's card uses a technique I saw in the latest issue of Stampin' Success (June 2009) called designer embossing.  Basically, you emboss on designer paper instead of card stock.  I used Old Olive Craft Ink and Clear Embossing Powder on Holiday Treasures Designer Series Paper.  TIP:  Choose large images to emboss.  Small embossed images on a busy DSP may add a little more zing than you want! Recipe: Stamp Set: … Read More »

Nature Silhouettes

I’m amazed what a difference it makes if you lightly spritz the card stock with water before running it through the Big Shot using one of the texturz plates.  Spritzing lightly with water makes a deeper impression on the card stock. Recipe: Stamp Set:  Nature Silhouettes Paper:  Sahara Sand, Always Artichoke, To the Nines Specialty Designer Series Paper Ink:  Always Artichoke Craft Ink Accessories:  Clear Embossing Powder, Rich Regals Brads,… Read More »

Father

Today's post includes a very simple card for Father, whether it's for Father's Day, birthday or any special occasion. As you can see it doesn't have any stamping on it nor fancy embellishments.  I wanted to keep it as simple as possible.  I don't have very many sentiment stamps so I find myself using the computer to generate the sentiment.  And I kind of prefer that because I can personalize… Read More »

Thoughts and Prayers

I hope everyone enjoyed their day today.  After a delicious brunch at Copeland's, I was ready for the sofa but decided to stamp instead.  Then I took a nap! Today's post is a masculine card.  I've been doing so many floral cards lately that I felt the need for a "male" card.  I just received this stamp set and decided to play with it instead of sticking it in a… Read More »
