Hi Stampers:
So many of these being shown right now, that I decided to make one! These are not my instructions but I was able to make the wreath using them. I can't remember where I got them – sorry!
Fanfold Wreath
- Large circles are 24” x 2” (2 – 12” x 2” strips joined, or 3 – 8” x 2” strips joined.)
- Medium circles are 20” x 1½” (2 – 10” x 1½” strips joined)
- Small circles are 20” x 1” (2 – 10” x 1” strips joined)
The wreath base is made from the cardboard that comes with the package of Designer Series Paper. The outer circle is around 12”, and the inner circle is about 8 ½” (a large mixing bowl can be used for a pattern for the inner circle.)
All of the strips are scored at 1/2” intervals. It is easiest to score the pieces before cutting them into strips. First score at 1” intervals. After scoring at 1”, 2”, 3”, etc. to the end of the length you need, turn it over and score at ½”, 1½”, 2½”, 3½”, etc. This will make it easier to accordion fold at the half inch marks.
Accordian fold your Designer Series Paper and Cardstock strips and join them to make a circle. Hold several thicknesses together and punch with the small punch on the Crop A Dial. String twine through the punched holes. Pull very tight so the circle lays flat and tie, leaving the strings free on the end. They will be trimmed when you adhere the circles to the wreath base. Decorate as desired.
For the wreath:
2” strips:
- More Mustard
- Newsprint
- Spice Cake (3)
- Soft Suede Patterns Paper (2)
- Pear Pizzazz
1½” strips:
- Riding Hood Red
- Soft Suede
- More Mustard
- Spice Cake
- Newsprint (2)
- Pear Pizzazz
1” strips:
- Spice Cake
- Riding Hood Red (3)
- More Mustard
Accessories: 3 – 23/8” Scallop Punches; 3 regular scallop punches, Spice Cake Designer Buttons, Designer Buttons, Antique Brads, Vanilla Cardstock for saying and cut out leaves, Newsprint DSP, cardboard from DSP package, Hemp, Hot glue gun, Crop-A-Dile
NOTE: I found that if you need (for example) two 2” strips and four 1 ½” strips of the DSP (2+2+1.5+1.5+1.5+1.5=10), it is easier to cut my 12 x 12 paper to 10” on one side and leave at 12" on the other side. Then score… then cut into 2” and 1 ½” strips. This saves tons of time in scoring these.
Great job on the wreath! I’ve been wanting to make one. Thanks for the inspiration.
