A Shabby Chic Card for a Friend

By | January 9, 2023

Good Afternoon Crafters!

Today’s card is a shabby chic card using the Happiness Abounds Bundle and the Forever Fern Bundle. The the floral stamp set features all-occasion sentiments to celebrate those you love with greetings in various sizes as well as line-art floral images perfect for coloring. The Forever Fern Stamp Set has a special texture that gives added depth and dimension in a single step, creating photo-realistic images.

Happiness Abounds and Forever Fern

I stamped the flower image with Crumb Cake ink on Very Vanilla Thick cardstock and then colored in with the Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blends Comb. The middle was colored in with the light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Marker and was die cut using the coordinating die from the Blossoming Happiness Dies.

The leaves are from the Forever Flourishing Dies and were stamped with Soft Succulent Ink onto Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock and then die cut with the coordinating die. The sentiment was stamped with Fresh Freesia Ink and then fussy cut with our Paper Snips.

The background (Very Vanilla cardstock) was embossed using the Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder and then the edges were distressed with our Paper Snips. The frame (Crumb Cake Cardstock) was die cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

Inside of card – the small flowers from the Happiness Abounds Bundle. The “splatter” under the flowers is from the Nature’s Harvest Bundle and was stamped with the Fresh Freesia Ink. I stamped off to create the lighter image.

Since this was a “shabby chic” card, I decided to use the Envelope Dies to give the flap of the Very Vanilla Envelope an “elegant” look.

Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit.
