Jane’s Gift

By | December 16, 2010

Hi Stampers

I'm still working on Christmas cards – my self imposed deadline came and went and I'm still at it.   We are such creatures of habit – every year I tell myself that I'm going to make my cards early in the season but it never happens!

Jane's-gift copy
This card and gift was for Jane, my BFF in Northwest Arkansas!  We had a great time yesterday, first coffee and donuts at Daylight Donuts, then shopping and finishing off with lunch at Mimi's.  Jane is such a good friend – she keeps me laughing.

Jane's gift was a chocolate mix that includes cocoa and bits of candy cane.  I also gave her a candy cane that she could use as a stir and, of course, the peppermint schnapps– the key ingredient to any hot cocoa during the winter!  I tried it the night before and it was delicious – yummy in fact.  I could not give her the gift without trying it out to make sure it was good (LOL).  The mix was put into one of  Medium Flat Cello Bags and tied off using the Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Seam Binding.

I made the card several days ago – All the Holidays.  The gift bag is from a big box store and the DSP I added is the beautiful Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper.  I finished it off with a Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Seam Binding Bow and added an Antique Brad to give it a vintage look.  I love these brads – they look like vintage metal buttons and have prongs to make them easy to attach to any card or project.

 Thanks for stopping by today!

Pretty card & gift box. But of course you had to try out the ‘recipe’ first! btw, I like Butterscotch Schnapps in my hot chocolate.
