Hi Stampers
I know that I said I was tired of the dark colors but I have to make a birthday card for my son-in-law and I thought I would use some of the left over Christmas pattern paper called Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper. I usually have a lot of DSP left over but in this case I used almost all of it.
For a masculine look, I decided to go with the Studio Sketches Stamp Set. What I liked about this set is that it reminds me of still life art, masculine yet sophisticated.
The image was stamped on Very Vanilla Card stock with Jet Black Stazon. I colored in the image using a Blender Pen and Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Basic Gray, and Soft Suede Classic Ink Pads. I then lightly spritzed the image using the Color Spritzer Tool and Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker.
The Cherry Cobbler Layer was punched on one side using the Spiral Border Punch. I wrapped Linen Thread around the end twice and tied a knot. The next layer is the Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper and the base card is Soft Suede Card Stock.
When I was looking for some vintage brads, I came across an object that look like a key hole opening with a little loop at the top which made it perfect for the brad to anchor it to the card. I don't know what it is called or where I bought it but it is interesting looking and it is vintage looking so it's perfect for the card!
