Shabby Chic

Hi Stampers

Opener This is one of the cards the ladies will be making at the Valentine Stamp Camp on Friday, 28 January 2011.  This class had to be rescheduled because of snow so I'm glad I'm going to be able to have it before Valentine's Day!

Shabby-Chic copy
For today's card, I used the Always Stamp Set.  Love this set – love the elegant images and it's so shabby chic!

The base card is Pretty in Pink Card Stock embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  The Top Note is made up of Very Vanilla Card Stock which was stamped with the En Francais Background Stamp.  I first ran the Pretty in Pink Classic Ink over the stamp, then swiped it a couple of times with Soft Suede Classic ink.

The heart is Very Vanilla Card Stock which was embossed and die cut using the Scalloped Hearts of Hearts Embosslits Die.  I then stamped the Love You sentiment from the Well Scripted Stamp Set using Pretty in Pink Classic ink.  I adhered it to a scrap piece of Pretty in Pink Card Stock and cut the heart out free hand using the Paper Snips.  The scalloped heart was attached using Stampin' Dimensionals.  I used Pretty in Pink 5/8" Satin Ribbon and Victoria 5/8" Crochet Trim around the Top Note Die cut.  A pearl was added to the top of the heart to complete the Shabby Chic look.

Shabby Chic

I'm really happy with the way this card came out.  I tried using the Medallion background stamp before and I wasn't too happy with the results.  Then one of my readers (Thanks Jeanealogist!) recommended I emboss it.  I tried it and I like.   Tell me what you think of my card.
